Hands On: Waycharger Power Bank By Journova

I have a love affair with Power Banks. Some work better than others, but it is important to have one. The Waycharger by Journova  is one of the best Power Banks I have tested to this date. I have a love affair with Power Banks. Some work better than others, but it is important to have one. The Waycharger by Journova  is one of the best Power Banks I have tested to this date. Lets take a look at what makes me say that.

The Waycharger stands out from the crowd due to the fact that unlike most power banks that are made from plastic, the Waycharger is made from Aluminium. This makes the power bank nearly impossible to break. During their recent Kickstarter Campagin, they even posted a picture of the charger functioning while being run over by a vehicle with no damage done.

First thing you notice with the Waycharger is the weight. Due to the shell being made from Aluminium the weight is much greater than most other Power Banks.  This gives you a feeling of how good the build quality is. The sides have a leather like look and feel to them. One side of the main body is smooth aluminium and the other is black textured.

The Waycharger has a 12,000 mAh battery that is capable of charging your phone 5 plus times depending on the model of your phone.  The Waycharger is charged via a a microUSB cable. You can use your standard wall charger that came with your phone if you so choose as it will work fine for charging the Waycharger. Depending on the power from your wall charger, the device takes 8+ hours to obtain a full charge.

The Waycharger is designed with two USB ports that allow you to charge two devices at the same time.  The output power is 4.2A between both USB ports. This allows for a fast charge for both your power hungry devices such as iPads and Tablets.

Journova has even implimented the ability to “charge through” the Power Bank. You can plug your Waycharger into the wall to charge and then plug two devices into the Waycharger and charge all three at the same time up to 100% charged.

On the top of the Waycharger there is a power button and 5 LED lights to show you the charge status of the Power Bank. There are also some cooling vents to keep every thing running nice and cool.

The Waycharger comes in either Textured Green, Black, or White.  The main body is the color you choose, and the sides are a textured black.

In the package shipped to us was the Waycharger,  Instructions, and a cloth drawstring case.

Overall the Waycharger is a great way to keep you device charged at all times, it has large battery storage,  and a high quality build. The cost might seem a little hefty up front, but with the high quality of the device means it will last for quite some time.

Price for the Waycharger is $129.00 and available from Journova.com
