TEMPE, Ariz – Rockford Fosgate, the industry leader in high-performance car audio systems, announced that its C.L.E.A.N. level setting technology, currently featured in its PUNCH and new POWER amplifiers, has been awarded a U.S. Patent (#8712066). This technology helps match the vehicle’s source unit to the amplifier, therefore optimizing the amplifier’s gain settings to produce optimum power output. This is all done by on-board clipping detectors.

“Adjusting your amplifier gain to match the maximum usable output voltage of the audio source is an often misunderstood task,” explained David Baker, Rockford Corp. director of electrical engineering. “It is known that accurate gain setting is essential to achieving optimum system performance. With the ability of C.L.E.A.N. to indicate the audio sources maximum capability, the feature serves to quickly and easily answer the question ‘Where do I set my gain?’ Incorporating this technology into our products enhances performance and improves ease-of-use.”
