It’s normally hard for a student or young professional to find a cheap car that’s reliable and good on gas. The 2016 Nissan Micra is the perfect little car. The test car we drove featured a 5-speed manual 1.6L engine, 4 door hatch in stunning Fresh Powder.
The Micra S has minimum options, but being on a budget it works great. For audio the Micra has a 4 speaker stereo with AM/FM/CD/AUX-IN. Also had crank windows and a spacious front seats and adequate rear seats. Cargo space was decent as well you could go on a day trip but as for long road trips or something of that nature you’d have to bump up to a Sentra.
With the Micra it was very peppy and once you found the sweet spot in the clutch it was like driving a little sports car. Gas mileage was superb in the Micra I finished the week with a little under half a tank left. The anticipated fuel consumption was 8.6L/100km 33mpg city and 6.6L/100km 43mpg highway. I do have to admit piloting the Micra S around dense cities was great. Never felt like I was going to get blown over or squished even though I was in a subcompact car.
If you are looking for a great small car for commuting to work or school check out the Micra, the one we reviewed comes in at $11,588 all in which to be honest for a new car that is a spectacular price. Go down to your local Nissan dealership and test drive one today you will not be disappointed.
