Cadence Sound is shipping a new high end line of audiophile components under its new, premium Oncore Audio brand.
Oncore was first shown at CES two years ago. It offers direct sales to retailers.
Oncore includes full range Class D amplifiers with 10Hz to 30kHz range. Its XW subwoofers claim “brutally realistic dynamics” with long linear excursion and high sensitivity. The subwoofers also have a field serviceable core.
Oncore subwoofers use an FEA optimized motor with a T-shaped pole design and dual shorting rings above and below the magnetic gap for a stable magnetic field that results in ultra-low distortion and low power compression.
A 12 inch subwoofer is the XW12 and the 15 inch version is the XW15. They have dual 2- or 4-ohm impedence with continuous power handling ratings of 1,000 watts and 1,500 watts respectively.
They use a cast aluminum heat sink basket and pure aluminum voice coils. Cadence claims the subwoofers have a wider cone and a stiffer, unique surround. They can produce volume displacement of Sd = 585 cm 2 for the 12-inch model and 960 cm2 for the 15-inch. Xmax is 23mm and 22 mm, respectively.
Oncore’s 5 new amplifiers have full range crossovers with full range high pass and low pass filters. All gains have potentiometers to count clicks to set the gain more accurately.
The new Oncore Audio will be on display at CES January 5-8 2017, Booth # 3115 North Hall.
