With the addition of the new SR model to the 2016 Altima line-up, Nissan is taking dead aim at one of the fastest growing areas of the mid-size sedan segment – sport variants. Among some competitors, the so-called “sport” grades account for nearly 40 percent of total sales. Altima already is one of the sportiest designs in the segment, however the company is taking a more Nissan-like approach, adding a level of true enhanced performance to go with the requisite larger wheels and spoiler.

When it comes to mid-sized sedans the market is saturated. But Nissan has separated themselves from the pack with the 2016 Nissan Altima SL this mid-sized car is packed full of features and has next level styling to make it stand out from the pack.

Nissan has really changed it up with luxury styling. The front end is clean lines with LED accents for daytime running lights and projector headlights. The front styling is solid lines and sharp corners really give it a sport high end feel.

Then moving around to the back, you have similar styling to their other line up. Again, more clean stylish lines and clean angles. They tuck the rear camera under the chrome strip above the license plate. Now the trunk does look smaller but you have more than enough storage space.

Moving into the Altima you are greeted with leather interior and an 8-way heated driver seat. When seated in the Altima you have access to all your media controls and vehicle menus via steering wheel controls. For the entertainment system, you have a 9 speaker Bose system with Bluetooth and USB support. The 7” touch screen also supports the built-in GPS nav and Nissan Connect which allows you to connect to Facebook and Twitter on the go.

In the back, you have a 60/40 bi fold microfiber bench seats with leg room for anyone under 5’11”. The trunk is roomy enough for the grocery shopping and under the cover is a spare tire. The Bose system does have two subwoofers in the trunk but they’re built in so you don’t lose a lot space.

All in I must say the 2016 Nissan Altima is a great mid-sized sedan. Go to your local Nissan dealership and test drive one!
