Alcantara was a defining feature on Lexus LC 500 models at the show. Door panels make dramatic use of colorful Alcantara, chosen to harmonize with matching leather seats and steering wheel. Alcantara also trimmed the center console to create total luxury. Lexus chose Alcantara sport seats with eight-way power support to enhance traction for driver and passenger alike. The high-back design “took over 50 prototypes,” according to Lexus.

Audi used Alcantara in many ways on its performance RS 3 Sedan. In addition to door panels, and contrast-stitched console trim, Audi used Alcantara to enhance grip on the sports sedan’s four-spoke steering wheel and its ball-shaped shift knob.

Alfa Romeo complimented its Giulia Quadrifoglio and Stelvio Quadrifoglio SUV with multiple uses of Alcantara on front and rear seating surfaces, as well as the car’s steering wheel.

Dodge accentuated the interiors of many of its vehicles with dark grey Alcantara seating materials, including the Challenger R/T and Charger SRT Hemi. The Challenger GT Plus used two textures of bright orange Alcantara.

Subaru enhanced its popular WRX STI with Recaro seats with grey Alcantara on seat centers, steering wheel and a darker grey Alcantara with red contrast stitching on its door panels.

Alcantara is a unique Italian-made material that offers designers a variety of benefits, including extreme versatility in terms of grip, breathability, resistance to wear, light fastness and cleanability. Alcantara maintains compliance with the strictest industry standards for technical performance.

The lightweight, carbon-neutral material is a preferred choice for many of the world’s luxury and high-performance vehicles. Alcantara is headquartered in Milan, with research and production facilities in Nera Montoro, Umbria. More information is available on the internet at www.alcantara.com.
