Crystal Ice Arena is one of the sports venues for the Winter Universiade 2019, which is scheduled to take place from March 2 to 12, 2019 in the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk. To ensure a high-level international sport competition with top fan experience, last month the facility with an estimated capacity of 3,500 people introduced a cutting-edge center-hung LED display and three LED scoreboards from the world leading LED brand Absen.

The configuration of the LED video displays suspended above the court features four 5.25X3m main displays and another four 2.25X3m displays, providing wide-angle visibility to every seat in the stadium. To further connect with and engage spectators, three 6X3.75m LED scoreboards from Absen were mounted on the walls inside this new arena.

During the Winter Universiade 2019, this Ice Arena will host men’s competitions in ice hockey, as well as matches for gold and bronze medals between women’s ice hockey teams. The octagonal LED display system designed by Absen will be capable of variable content ranging from up-close live video, instant replays, official posters, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and sponsorship messages or other notices etc.

As ice hockey is a national sport in Russia and the Winter Universiade is the largest university winter multi-sport competition in the world that draws thousands of student-athletes together, Krasnoyarsk attaches great importance to the construction of the new sport venues. Russian Match TV (click to watch the video) delivered special report on the construction progress of Crystal Ice Arena with a focal point on the eight-sided display and the scoreboards.

“The country encourages us to adopt everything made in Russia in national projects”, commented Boris, the construction project manager in the interview, “but, to be honest, for center-hung LED displays, we have tried our best. It is pity that we don’t have qualified Russian manufacturer so far”.

Due to Absen’s reliable product quality and sophisticated experience in engineering LED solutions in sport industry, Krasnoyarsk Crystal Ice Arena selects LED technology from this trusted LED brand.

Absen has been one of the best in business of creating wow factors for sport events with its state-of-the-art digital signage technology. It’s known that at the end of 2016, Absen entered significant partnership agreement with China Super League (CSL) and became the official LED display supplier. Up to now the company has provided its solutions for over 328 games. And in the on-going World Cup matches, nearly 2,000 square meters of Absen LED displays have been utilized to offer fans from all over the world the best-ever viewing experience in three sport arenas including Kazan Arena, Kaliningrad Stadium and Rostov Arena.
