SAN FRANCISCOJuly 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Brava, a technology company changing the way people cook at home, today unveiled its new, proprietary cooking technology and inaugural product, poised to become the future of cooking. A first-of-its-kind in the consumer kitchen space, Brava sets out to shape the next era of in-home cooking through the power of Brava’s groundbreaking, patented Pure Light Cooking™ technology, harnessing light as an energy source to make delicious, homemade food.

With a mission to empower anyone to make better food at home, Brava’s innovation is rooted in its Pure Light Cooking™ technology, which enables its lamps to reach full power, the equivalent of your oven reaching 500 degrees in under one second, practically eliminating the need to preheat— becoming the fastest oven in the world.

The Pure Light heating elements that make up the core of the oven were initially used in manufacturing, and Brava has repurposed these lamps for household use, bringing Pure Light Cooking™ into the home for the first time.

Utilizing its uniquely designed Pure Light lamps, Brava can cook an entire meal with less energy than it takes to preheat a traditional oven, with multi-zone capabilities to cook different food groups at distinct temperatures, simultaneously. At the vanguard of the smart cooking revolution, Brava has created a dynamic cooking engine, reflective of its unprecedented technological features and design. The oven is equipped with the most advanced sensors in development, inclusive of a temperature probe that enables the utmost precision to ensure perfect and consistent cooks.  The first oven to truly sear, Brava cooks protein, veggies and starch all on one tray to perfection—bringing the star chef out in anyone with a culinary professional at one’s fingertips.

Beyond Brava’s first-of-its-kind technology, the oven delivers chef-grade, optimal taste in every bite with Brava Guided Cooking’s professionally tested cooking programs. Smart and simple, not only does food taste better with Brava, but the process is hassle- and mess-free. Brava’s customized cooking experience promises delicious meals and consistency in food every time— making home the favorite place to eat. In addition to preset mode, Brava offers a dynamic “Chef Mode” that pushes the boundaries of one’s culinary desire, allowing users to apply Brava’s innovative technology to their own recipe creations.

“We have created a dynamic culinary engine that beautifully enhances the kitchen experience,” said John Pleasants, CEO of Brava. “Whether you’re a first-time cook or a skilled chef, Brava removes the stress and anxiety of preparing a meal and gives you confidence in the kitchen. From family dinners to date nights in, a quick lunch for yourself or hosting friends, our goal is to take the heavy lifting out of cooking to spend more quality time with loved ones.”

Offering a sophisticated way for people to spend more time doing what they love and less time in the kitchen, Brava’s focus is on speed, ease and taste. Product features and key attributes are as follows:

  • Cooking software with proprietary algorithms to control lamps and analyze cook and rest times, tested and perfected by Brava’s culinary team
  • Custom sensory system with an ultra-precise TempSensor that guides protein to cook in real-time and reach desired doneness
  • Heat-resistant internal camera and machine vision to monitor cooking progress, with the ability for a remote view into the oven on smartphones
  • Cooking capabilities that include either Brava Guided Cooking, a combination of preset Recipes and Basic Ingredients settings, or user-controlled features to sear, reheat, toast and bake
  • Bookmark recipes, find inspiration from our chef’s and order your next meal kit from the app
  • Comprehensive online device diagnostics system to anticipate and solve problems with on-demand customer service support

For a fully seamless cooking experience, Brava also introduces chef-curated recipes and a marketplace where premium ingredients can be purchased from some of the best farms and fisheries in the U.S. With access to Brava’s food partners; Chef’d, Good Eggs and Greensbury Market, the Brava marketplace serves as an online destination where members have access to specially designed meal kits tailored to the oven and developed by Brava’s culinary team, as well as fresh, high-quality proteins, promoting nutritious, balanced diets and enabling a healthy lifestyle.

“Limited time and skill for cooking is a common and significant impediment to optimal health,” said Dr. David L. Katz, Founder of True Health Initiative and Brava advisory board member. “Brava brilliantly addresses this problem, making delicious, nutritious family meals convenient and efficient – no cooking skills required!”

With the launch of the company and first product offering, Brava also opens doors today to its flagship retail store located at Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto, CA. The first of many to come, the store will immerse consumers into Brava by showcasing the product’s innovative features, offering live cooking demos and hosting curated events.

Starting at a retail price of $995, Brava is now available for pre-order at Brava.com or at its Stanford Shopping Center showroom, with ovens expected to ship in November 2018.
