Hands On: Travel Express Case For The Kindle Fire By WaterField Designs

One of the biggest challenges today is keeping your Kindle Fire protected. There are so many cases, sleeves, hard cases, screen protectors, and the like. But which one is right for you. I can’t answer that, but a can lead you in one direction. WaterField Designs has a Made In The USA Travel case designed specifically for the Kindle Fire, but if you like it I’m sure other 7 inch tablets would fit though not designed for it . This case gives you adequate protection for your tablet plus storage for cables, chargers, charging bricks and whatever else you can fit in it. Check out my review after the jump.

WaterField Designs makes cases and sleeves for almost any device. The case under the magnifying glass today is the Travel Express case for the Kindle Fire. This case is made from a ballistic Nylon exterior with a padded interior. Keeping everything inside is a YKK zipper so you know that you items inside will stay secure. There is a dedicated slot for the Kindle with 3 other pockets for storing other items such as chargers, charging cables, and the like. I personally use mine to carry spare batteries, my iPhone and my HTC Thunderbolt. Even with all this I still have room for a charging brick plus cables for all my devices.

The Travel Express case has several options you can choose when ordering. There are two different shoulder straps, and a D ring. You can also choose from six different colors or Muzetto Leather for the stripe on the case. The case itself comes in black.

As you can see in this picture, the case will hold a lot of items while still closing and protecting the tablet and all of it’s contents.

The Travel Express™ keeps the Kindle Fire™ and accessories organized and protected:

  • Kindle™-specific, scratch-free pocket for the Kindle™
  • Soft, padded, interior pockets for power adapter, USB, Quick Start Guide and/or other accessories like keys, phone and wallet
  • Domestically produced, 1050 denier, ballistic nylon exterior
  • YKK zipper opens case along top and side panel for easy access
  • Two impact-resistant plastic inserts protect screen and accessories
  • Bold stripe in choice of six earthy colors to match other WaterField Designs gear
  • Use alone—under an arm or in a bag—or with optional D-rings & strap—as a stand-alone bag
  • Available for the Kindle Fire™ only

The Travel Express starts at $59 USD for a colored stripe or $69 USD for the Muzetto Leather stripe. Adding a D ring adds $5, a basic strap is $12, and a suspension strap is $22.

I personally found the Travel Express case to be very handy with not only keeping my Kindle Fire protected, but it gave me the extra space to not only keep my other devices, but also the equipment to keep them charged. The build quality is excellent and all seams and stitches seem like they will last for quite awhile. If your looking for a case for your Kindle Fire, this is one that you must look at.
