Chicago, IL, April 9, 2014 — Sound Solutions, LLC, the exclusive U.S. distributor of Wharfedale loudspeakers and Avid HiFi products, is now shipping the Wharfedale Cobalt Wireless Bluetooth® Loudspeaker. The Cobalt brings acclaimed Wharfedale sound quality including aptX® connectivity to the Bluetooth speaker category in a compact contemporary design that fits easily into any home, apartment, office or dorm.
“In introducing the Cobalt we knew we couldn’t introduce just another ‘me too’ wireless powered speaker,” said Walter Schofield, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Cobalt lets listeners enjoy music from their favorite portable devices with complete convenience and outstanding sound quality that lives up to the heritage of the Wharfedale name.”
The Wharfedale Cobalt has a sleek design with a thin, curved horizontal front surface mounted on an integral base. Measuring 15 inches wide by 6-3/4 inches high by 7-1/4 inches deep (including base), the slim-profile Cobalt is available in a high-gloss Piano Black finish that imparts an elegant appearance. The Cobalt is simplicity itself to operate using its supplied remote or its touch panel controls.
The Cobalt’s wireless link eliminates the need to dock or connect a Bluetooth device, and works with all devices and phones that meet the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) spec, including the Apple iPhone, iPad and most Android devices. The Cobalt also includes a 1/8-inch (3.5mm) Aux In jack for use with any music source. The Cobalt is compatible with aptX audio coding technology to deliver wireless high-fidelity sound from aptX-enabled products.
The Cobalt’s Sonic Clarity dual 4-inch full-range drivers and Bass Flow Port and 30-watt RMS amplifier provide satisfyingly detailed and dynamic stereo sound. To further improve performance, the Wharfedale Cobalt features proprietary 24-bit digital signal processing, with patented psychoacoustic algorithms that compensate for the acoustic characteristics of smaller speakers to provide room-filling audio.
The Wharfedale Cobalt Wireless Bluetooth Loudspeaker is currently available at a US suggested retail price of $399.
