NXP Semiconductors Joins ZigBee Alliance Board of Directors
SAN RAMON, Calif. – June 3, 2014 – The ZigBee® Alliance, a global ecosystem of organizations creating wireless solutions for use in energy management, residential, commercial and consumer applications, today announced that NXP Semiconductors N.V. (NASDAQ: NXPI) is the newest member of the ZigBee Alliance Board of Directors, increasing the company’s existing membership to ‘Promoter’ level.
NXP has long supplied microcontrollers and transceivers for smart homes, connected lighting, and energy efficiency applications based on ZigBee standards. NXP has also developed a variety of ZigBee Certified platforms and reference designs for key markets including energy efficiency, connected devices, security and health.
