Amazon Alexa and Amazon Dash Replenishment Enable Petcube Users to Play and Treat their Pets Hands-Free
SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 7, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Petcube, the leader in the connected pet category, today unveiled software updates that unlock Amazon Alexa voice control for Petcube Bites and Petcube Play camera owners, and enable Petcube Bites to reorder treats using Amazon Dash Replenishment. All Petcube Play and Petcube Bites device owners will be able to access the new Petcube skill for Alexa for free.
Petcube is the first home camera to work with both Alexa and Dash Replenishment. With the Petcube Bites treat camera, users can ask Alexa to treat their pet, and even ask Alexa to reorder treats. Customers can also set up Petcube Bites to reorder treats automatically with Dash Replenishment.
When you enroll in Dash Replenishment via the Petcube app, the Petcube Bites treat camera tracks treat consumption and automatically reorders when supplies run low, so users can spend more quality time with their pets without worrying about running out of treats.
With Petcube Play, an interactive pet cam with a built-in laser pointer, users can ask Alexa to play with their pet. To use the voice service, all that is required is an Alexa-enabled device like the Amazon Echo or Echo Dot and the Petcube skill for Alexa.
“We’re excited to offer this first-of-a-kind integration with Alexa and Dash Replenishment. With the introduction of Alexa skills, we’re able to offer hands-free solutions for busy pet parents,” said Yaroslav Azhnyuk, CEO and co-founder of Petcube. “Alexa and Dash Replenishment implementations are a milestone in our mission to connect pets to the Internet and give them a voice. Petcube is a smart gift to buy for pet parents this holiday.”
Petcube Bites and Petcube Play cameras come in three colors: matte silver, carbon black, and rose gold. Petcube Bites is $249 and Petcube Play is $199, and available on Petcube.com, Amazon, and participating retailers.
