Milan, 15 June 2017 – On the occasion of the Italian launch of two new devices in the Surface family, Microsoft and Alcantara inaugurate “Surface, a New Touch of Style”, an exhibition that interprets in a stunning and original way the successful partnership between two leading brands representative – now more than ever – of a truly contemporary lifestyle.
From June 16th to 28th, the showroom of Microsoft House in Milan opens its doors to the public, treating the visitor to an experience made of visual and tactile sensations. Thanks to the many expressive languages of Alcantara, Microsoft has created its new Surface Laptop and Surface Pro, – powered by Intel – the perfect synthesis of technology, esthetics and attention to details, on display for the first time in Italy in the heart of Milan’s Design and Innovation District.
The colors of the Alcantara® material and the minimal lines of the Microsoft device transform the showroom into an experiential voyage of images and videos that capture the spectators’ attention, transporting them to the future of innovation.
Every one of us, through our work or our ideas, can express a creative potential. In order to realize this potential to the utmost, we want our experiences with the technological products that have become such a dominant feature of our daily lives to be highly personal and customized, with a mix of functional performance and unique design that is more than a veneer of fashion.
It was just to satisfy this trend-setting, glamor-seeking target that Microsoft turned to Alcantara, an excellence Made in Italy, for the magic, mysterious formula, pliable as wax but soft as silk, strong and not of animal origin, that could add elegance and refinement to its new Surface Laptop and Surface Pro.
Surface Laptop
The Surface Laptop is the perfect balance of portability, performance and sophistication. Every detail has been thought out to add new form and function to the classical design of the laptop computer. The 13.5″ PixelSense display is optimized for touch and Ink functions to offer an immersive experience. The keyboard has a silent, reactive keyset, a large trackpad and – here’s the news! – it is dressed in luxurious Alcantara® that ensures a comfortable handrest while typing.
The Surface Laptop is available in four tone-on-tone shades with Alcantara: platinum, graphite, burgundy and cobalt blue.
Thanks to the integration of Windows 10 S, Surface Laptop with its Intel® Core™ seventh generation processor guarantees up to 14.5 hours of battery autonomy.
Surface Pro
With the new Surface Pro, Microsoft reinforces the 2in1 category that it contributed to create, offering unrivaled versatility and portability, all contained in a lighter, more refined design.
Surface Pro is not just a very powerful laptop, it is also a mobile creative Studio with an extraordinary PixelSense touchscreen measuring 12.3”, capable of supporting the new Surface Pen and Surface Dial devices. Twice as accurate as the previous version, thanks to the introduction of silicon in the PixelSense Accelerator, the new Surface Pen is the reference point for the sector, with the more rapid, fluid writing and drawing experience it offers, and the possibility to adjust the shading depending on the tilt.
The writing tools will also be available on Windows 10 and Office 365, with the new Microsoft Whiteboard app to facilitate cooperation, productivity and creativity. The fact that the battery lasts up to 13.5 hours ensures maximum autonomy.
The Signature Type Cover keyboard for the Surface Pro in Alcantara® makes typing faster, more fluid and comfortable, at the same time offering an extraordinary combination of esthetics, function and sensory pleasure. The color palette grows to incorporate new shades of natural derivation like platinum, burgundy and cobalt blue, specially developed by Alcantara, which once again demonstrates its extreme versatility with this choice acclaimed by designer and creatives in all the sectors dominated by design and function.
Before the end of this year, the new Surface Pro will also be available with LTE Advanced Technology, to offer even greater mobility so that its users can work, cooperate and create without limits.
