Alpine Intros ‘Tough’ Power Pack Amplifiers

Alpine Electronics announced at CES a new water resistant series of mini amplifiers that can install behind the dash in powersports, marine and other vehicles.

The “Tough Power Pack” series includes two new amps with small foot prints and an IP66 rating against water and dust.

Both the 4-channel KTA-30FW and the mono KTA-30MW use a “high-quality” waterproof connector,” making them ideal for use in exposed areas such as side-by-sides, boats, open-top vehicles and motorcycles,” said Alpine.

They use Alpine’s proprietary Dynamic Pulse Power (DPP) technology which “delivers bursts of power during rigorous musical passages. When the amplifier senses that more power is required, the power supply quickly increases the internal gain level, effectively doubling the power for a significant increase in music volume,” Alpine said.

  • CTA-2006-B Specifications: 300W RMS x 1 (2 ohm @ 14.4V ≤ 1% THD+N); 600W DPP x 1 (2 ohm @ 14.4V, ≤ 1% THD+N)

  • S/N ratio: 83 dB (ref: 1W into 4 ohm)
