NASA Awards Contract for Facilities Operations, Maintenance Services

NASA has awarded the Facilities Operations and Maintenance Services (FOMS) III  contract, an 8(a) set-aside acquisition, to Akima Support Operations, LLC of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

FOMS III is a hybrid cost-plus-fixed-fee/technical-performance-incentive-fee contract, with a cost-plus-fixed-fee and firm-fixed-price indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity component. The total value of the contract is approximately $131.7 million and the period of performance begins March 1.

The contractor will support the Facilities Operations and Maintenance Division at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. Services under this contract include: ensuring reliable utility services for critical operations, such as central power plants, high-voltage systems, generators and fire protection systems; snow and ice removal; roof replacement and repair; asbestos abatement; painting and caulking; paving and pouring concrete; fence repairs; chemical water treatment; boiler maintenance and repair; and emergency services.
