BARCELONA, SpainFeb. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Ossia announced that the company will exhibit its ‘Coffee Shop’ Wireless Power Solution at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from February 26 to March 1. For the first time, Ossia will demonstrate how multiple Cota® Transmitters can link to charge dozens of mobile devices within a several meter radius.

The showcase of Cota technology is via the Cota Power Transmitter, a wireless power transmitter disguised as a drop ceiling tile. It delivers real wireless power without plugs, wires, or charging pads. The Cota Transmitters can power multiple devices in motion without a line of sight. At Mobile World Congress, Ossia will demonstrate the first ‘multi-Transmitter’ experience by linking two Cota Tiles to show how the system powers mobile devices in a typical coffee shop, office, retail or other crowded space.

“Cota is the most convenient and efficient way to distribute power to mobile users,” said Doug Stovall, Chief Revenue Officer at Ossia. “The Cota multi-Transmitter solution is a game changer for retail, coffee shops and public spaces. The biggest pain point for all consumer devices and IoT sensors is power. People are constantly looking for outlets and will even shift their plans to accommodate where they can get power. With Cota technology, power can be offered everywhere the consumer goes.”

Cota Transmitters have the unique ability link together and thereby scale up for larger spaces and additional users. When two Cota Transmitters are combined, they can deliver quadruple the power at the same distance when compared to a single Transmitter in the Tile form factor. Alternatively, two Cota Transmitters can send comparable power at twice the distance as one Tile. Four linked transmitters can deliver 16x the power of a single Cota Transmitter at the same distance.

Critically, Cota transmitters do not have to be placed side by side. For example, four Cota Transmitters could be separated by a few feet each to power a longer corridor or hallway. These flexible configurations make Cota the ideal wireless power solution in airports, hospitals, and other larger spaces.

Cota technology is inherently safe to people, pets, and plants and does not interfere with other wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi. All Cota-enabled devices are interoperable and can be activated, managed, and monitored via the Cota Cloud platform. Cota technology is currently being reviewed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for approval.

The Ossia team will demo the ‘Coffee Shop’ Wireless Power Solution Mobile World Congress. Come by the Ossia booth at Hall 8.0 Stand 8.0F20 for more information.
