EMBR LABS TURNS YOUR SMARTPHONE INTO A PERSONAL THERMOSTAT

Cambridge, Mass. – September 13, 2018 – Embr Labs, the first company to make temperature personal, is releasing Mobile Control, a new feature for Embr Wave that allows users to regulate their thermal comfort from their smartphone.

Embr Labs developed Embr Wave, a groundbreaking bracelet that cools or heats by applying cutting-edge technology to temperature sensitive skin. It was created by MIT scientists for people who want more control over their thermal comfort. Embr Wave precisely cools or warms the temperature-sensitive skin on your wrist, triggering your body’s comfort response to help you feel five degrees cooler or warmer within minutes. With the new Mobile Control feature, all Embr Wave users now can remotely control the temperature of the bracelet via an app on their smartphones, essentially turning a smartphone into a personal thermostat and “biohacking” device.

As users control their Embr Wave from their phone, they’ll be able to dial in the optimal temperature with more precision, instantly switch between Quick and Extended Mode, and gain more insight to into real-time temperature dynamics. “Being able to adjust your thermal comfort via your smartphone is a game changer,” explained David Cohen-Tanugi, Ph.D., CPO and co-founder of Embr Labs. “The intuitive interface and simplicity of our new Mobile Control feature mean that Embr Wave gives you more control over your thermal comfort than ever before.”

Embr Wave’s hugely successful Kickstarter campaign raised over $600,000, and attracted corporate investors, including Bose Ventures and Intel Capital. The Embr Wave costs $299, and can be purchased directly from embrlabs.com.
