Top Cool MacBook Features

Whether you are a brand new MacBook user or someone who has been using Apple products for decades, there are still plenty of secrets that most people don’t know about with these computers. The secrets are not the bad kind that make you want to avoid using a MacBook. Rather, the MacBook has many essential hidden features that help make your work time and playtime much more efficient. Here are the coolest secret features that you may not know about with your MacBook.

Emojis

Today, it’s common for most people of all ages to use emojis in their texting and email communication. Many are aware of the emojis on their phones and use them accordingly. Did you know you can also use emojis while using your MacBook? When typing something, whether it’s a Word document or an important email, click on the special characters button in your font menu bar for a cool surprise. You will see a collection of the most common emojis. Select the emoji that fits the occasion and add a little pizzazz and personality to your project or email message.

Quick Previews

Sometimes, when you’re sifting through a large volume of files it’s time-consuming to open each one to see if it’s the right document you’re looking for. Did you know your MacBook can make it easier? If you use a MacBook, you can save time when you’re looking through a large selection of files by simply highlighting the file in the finder folder window and pressing the spacebar. This will allow you to quickly preview the file to get an instant glimpse of what it is. This way, you don’t have to open multiple files and waste time closing them.

Windows

There is a large selection of people who decide to make the switch from PC to Mac and struggle with the learning curve. They may be used to the familiar interface of the PC’s Windows operating system and have trouble with the new features on an iOS text. Well, there is an easier way to manage this transition. Nearly all new MacBooks have the ability to run the Windows operating system alongside the installed iOS system. This way, you can get the comfort of your previous operating system with the functionality, speed, and performance of your MacBook.

Summarizing

Another cool feature that comes with your MacBook is its ability to summarize text quickly. This is a really great tool to help add minutes to your day. All you need to do is highlight the text with your mouse. Then, right click with your mouse and in the new window that opens, select summarize. Your MacBook will instantly give you a quick summary of everything from the text.

New Finder Window

Did you know you can also open a new finder window instead of having to search for and open files in the main navigation? To do this, double click on the folder in the finder window. While you double click, press the command key to give your folder a new window. With this or the Online Service Center, you can easily find what you’re looking for.

Hiding Notifications

The last cool feature you need to know about to help improve your experience with your MacBook is how to hide any notifications. Pop up notifications can get really distracting and annoying if you’re in the middle of something important. Turn them off by pressing the notification symbol in the main menu toolbar. You can temporarily turn them off until you’re ready to see them again.
