Blackloud Announces Radio Station Affiliate Program for its FM-Enabled Products

Blackloud, a developer of products that enhance smart life, today announced its radio station affiliate program at the RadioShow in Orlando, booth 73. The program starts with Blackloud’s first FM-enabled product, the new SOUNDOT AF1 FM Headset for iOS Lightning devices, which provides the unique ability to access FM radio for free anywhere in the world, even without internet. The headset’s built-in FM receiver lets users tune directly into FM radio to listen live and compression free to sports, music, weather and emergency broadcasts, without requiring internet connectivity (Wi-Fi or 4G/LTE) or an activated FM chip in the iOS device itself.

Listening to FM radio in real time via the built-in FM chip, rather than streaming it over the internet, has a number of benefits. It uses no mobile data, saves battery life, eliminates the delays inherent in streaming, and gives users access to emergency information broadcast on FM during crises when connectivity fails.

How Blackloud’s radio station affiliate program works:
Radio stations that join the affiliate program at http://www.blackloud.com will receive a code that’s unique to them, which they share with their listeners. Listeners get a 10 percent discount off the SOUNDOT AF1 FM Headset, which retails for US$79.89, after entering the code and purchasing the headset on http://www.blackloud.com. Affiliates earn a 15 percent commission on all sales associated with their code, payable via wire transfer or check at the beginning of the following month. Affiliates can log in to monitor orders associated with their code, shipping status and commission status.

In addition to direct access to FM radio, Blackloud’s SOUNDOT AF1 FM Headset features a user-friendly iOS app to control the FM tuner, and premium lossless sound quality for everyday use (listening to music, watching videos, answering calls, and activating Siri).

Future Blackloud FM-enabled products include the SOUNDOT CF1 FM Headset (for USB Type C Androids), expected in 2019, and other SOUNDOT family members yet to be announced.

“We are excited to work with radio stations in this affiliate program,” said Mr. Chih-Hsu Yen, executive vice president, Blackloud. “We developed a win-win program to reward everyone involved, giving the consumer a discount and the affiliate radio station a commission.”

Guaranteed FM reception prepares users for crises if connectivity fails. Craig Fugate, former head of FEMA, cites a lesson learned. “I believe everyone’s emergency kit should include something to access broadcast radio, be it a battery-operated / hand-crank radio, or an FM-enabled device. It is easy to trust that our smartphone, the internet or pay-TV will be there when we need critical information. However, our cellular or TV systems often go down, leaving us in the dark literally and figuratively. It happened to me during Hurricane Irma. Good thing I had a battery-powered radio – it was the only news source I had.”

Blackloud also offers an affiliate program for webstore owners. Visit Blackloud for more information.
