Marine Corps Veteran, Amputee, and Outdoor Enthusiast Kirstie Ennis Becomes LEER Brand Ambassador — Ennis Seeks to Raise a Million Dollars to Give Away a Million by Climbing the “Grand Slam” of Mountains

Veterans advocate and outdoor enthusiast, Kirstie Ennis, signs on as a LEER® brand ambassador. Overcoming extraordinary personal obstacles, Ennis has dedicated her life to encouraging others to exceed limitations, overcome physical and mental hurdles, and achieve goals through an active lifestyle.

During Kirstie’s second deployment to Afghanistan in the U.S. Marine Corps, a helicopter crash in 2012 caused severe head and body injuries. After multiple surgeries and a difficult recovery, Kirstie undertook a new mission to lead by example and inspire others to overcome their barriers to success. Her effort includes an ambitious schedule of outdoor challenges that push her to new levels of achievement – marathons, Ironman competitions, and performing stunts in major motion pictures.

Determined to continue serving others after her departure from the military, Ennis established The Kirstie Ennis Foundation to support nonprofits dedicated to improving the quality of life of individuals and families through grants. The foundation’s goal is to inspire men, women, and children to overcome their adversities, tap into their potential, and improve their quality of life by completing outdoor challenges and achieving rehabilitation goals.

To raise awareness for the foundation, Ennis has taken on the challenge of climbing the highest peak on each of the seven continents – known as the “Grand Slam” of mountains. She has successfully summited Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa; Elbrus, the highest point in Europe; and is scheduled to take on the highest peak in South America – Aconcagua in Argentina – in January.

“Asking Kirstie to represent LEER as a brand ambassador was an easy decision. We love the synchronicity of Kirstie’s mission to help people achieve their goals, and LEER’s vision to help people utilize the full capabilities of their trucks, especially when it comes to experiencing the outdoors,” said Katherine Adams, VP of Marketing and New Product Development, LEER. “We are proud to support a truly inspiring individual who challenges all of us to live up to our full potential and strive to achieve our very best in all that we do.”

In addition to running her foundation and pursuing her many adventures, Ennis values her time at home in Colorado. “Most days, you’ll find me loading up my LEER cap and heading outdoors to go hiking, fishing, or running with my dog, Cooper,” said Ennis. “As a company that encourages outdoor adventure, being a LEER brand ambassador is an absolutely great fit.”
