The Original Tamagotchi Now Available Online And In Stores

EL SEGUNDO, Calif.Oct. 1, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — Bandai America welcomed back the Original Tamagotchi yesterday, with both the first and second generations available immediately online and at retail. The company also revealed that the launch of the Original Tamagotchi will be supplemented with two new partnerships featuring Loot Crate and Tile.

“We wanted to do something unique and special for the return of the Original Tamagotchi, and collaborate with companies that share our vision of bringing back this beloved classic series,” said Tara Badie, Bandai America Marketing Director.  “The partnerships with Loot Crate and Tile will showcase the original virtual pet like never before and we believe that they will be true collector’s items.”

Loot Crate will be creating buzz for the Tamagotchi return through October when eight Tamagotchi devices will be randomly put into various Loot Crates, Loot Gaming and Loot Anime boxes which are distributed to their customers through their proprietary subscriptions. Tile, creator of leading Bluetooth tracking devices and finding platform, will create and execute a themed promotion supporting the product launch of Tamagotchi, which will feature 5 paired giveaways of Tile and Tamagotchi devices through Tile’s social media. The promotion will run for five days leading up to the launch.

Each Tamagotchi device is sold individually with a suggested retail price $19.99. Tamagotchi devices will be available online and at the following locations: Target, Amazon, GameStop, Best Buy and Barnes & Noble.  For more information, please visit www.bandai.com.

Bandai will also be releasing a Tamagotchi based on Sanrio’s lazy egg character, Gudetama – coming out in 2019.
