Bridgewater, NJ: October 10, 2018 – Brother International Corporation will be showcasing their lineup of AiRScouter head mounted displays at the upcoming National Association of Broadcasters Show at the Jacobs K. Javits Center in New York on October 17th and 18th. These uniquely adjustable headsets put high-definition video where its most convenient: right in front of your eye. Brother will be in Booth N1028, across from the show’s Middle Bar, and will be available from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM on both days of the expo for demonstrations and to answer any product questions.

AiRScouter offers camera operators a convenient alternative to traditional viewfinders and monitors. By taking the viewfinder off the camera and putting it on their heads, operators can get the shots they want with comfort and ease without losing touch with what’s happening around them. For example, a gimbal operator can keep the subject in frame with the monocular display while keeping an eye on where he or she is moving – even when running or moving backwards up a set of stairs – rather than keeping both eyes fixed on a monitor mounted on the gimbal.

AiRScouter allows unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV or drone) pilots to comply with FAA Part 107 regulations on visual line- of-sight (VLOS) while they fly in first-person view (FPV) with its monocular display. This means they can see what their drone’s camera is capturing while keeping an eye on where the drone is in the sky. Inspectors can work more efficiently by keeping their heads up while flying, and public safety operators (e.g., police or fire departments) can fly safer during incidents by staying aware of what’s happening around them rather than fixating on the screen of a handheld controller.

Each AiRScouter headset features a bright and crisp 720p HD display with adjustable focus that can be positioned over the operator’s eye of choice and worn with or without glasses. The displays are IP54-rated to help the wearer work in dirty or wet conditions. Each model includes standard video and power inputs that connect seamlessly to existing gear:

  • The AiRScouter WD-300C is a lightweight and budget-friendly model ideal for drone and lightweight gimbal operators that is powered by a standard micro-USB port and accepts a 720p HDMI connection
  • The AiRScouter WD-320C includes an internal battery and maximizes versatility with an HDMI input that accepts video up to 1080p and works with both NTSC and PAL refresh rates
  • The AiRScouter WD-330C includes an internal battery and features an HD-SDI video input that connects easily and securely to a range of professional video sources

Throughout the show, Brother will demonstrate how AiRScouter is used by UAV pilots, gimbal operators, and studio camera operators. For more information on the AiRScouter head mounted displays, please visit us online at https://www.brother-usa.com/business/hmd
