OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Nov. 20, 2018 – Just in time to make holiday travel a little less stressful and  much more fun, Sprint (NYSE:S) today put the pedal to the metal with Sprint Drive. Sprint Drive is a small wireless device that plugs in near a car’s steering column, giving drivers peace of mind by keeping them  connected to their cars and providing real-time information from a smart phone or browser.

Sprint Drive features:

  • Real-time vehicle location and monitoring
  • Trip history and aggressive driver alerts, such as hard acceleration and braking
  • 4G LTE Wi-Fi for in-vehicle productivity and entertainment
  • 24×7 roadside assistance1
  • Vehicle health notification alerts
  • Mechanic hotline advice from ASE certified mechanics2

Starting Nov. 21 (in time for Black Friday), customers can get the Sprint Drive device free for a limited time with a 24-month installment plan and qualifying data plan3. Sprint Drive – powered by Sprint 4G LTE – benefits drivers of all ages, including parents, small business owners and those concerned about their vehicle’s performance.

Sprint Drive lets parents relax by allowing them to monitor their teen drivers with real-time tracking, follow a vehicle’s location, and send an alert if their young driver goes beyond established boundaries. Sprint Drive also lets parents review their teen’s driving skills and habits – great news for the nearly nine in 10 parents of new drivers nationwide who told Sprint that they would like to monitor their child’s driving habits. And a majority would grade their child’s driving as a “B or C,” which could be improved with Sprint Drive’s driver safety scoring system.

Sprint Drive will also benefit business owners, giving them the flexibility to monitor a fleet of up to 25 vehicles from the office or mobile device. And, with the 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, passengers can work on emails or stay entertained by connecting up to eight devices to the Sprint 4G LTE network.

“Sprint Drive harnesses the power of the Sprint 4G LTE network to literally transform cars into smart, connected vehicles – something we all can benefit from,” said Dow Draper, Sprint chief commercial officer. “And, once again, Sprint delivers the best value for unlimited data – even for your car – all on our incredible network built for unlimited.”

Customers have two great service plans to choose from:

  • Sprint Drive Unlimited: $25 per month, per line with Unlimited Mobile Hotspot
  • Sprint Drive 2GB: $10 per month, per line with 2GB of Mobile Hotspot4

Sprint Drive runs on the Sprint 4G LTE Network, which has recently undergone major enhancements. Sprint now offers 30 percent more LTE coverage5 and reliability customers can count on. Through its massive Next-Gen Network investment and roaming agreements, Sprint is helping customers connect in more places from coast to coast, with its largest-ever total LTE footprint. In addition, Sprint network upgrades helped the company achieve its best-ever showing with the fastest average download speeds in 123 cities – according to the latest quarterly data from Speedtest Intelligence® provided by Ookla®.6 Sprint also has the most improved network, outpacing competitors with national average download speeds year-over-year up 31.5 percent according to Speedtest Intelligence data7 and up 87 percent in PCMag’s 2018 Fastest Mobile Networks report.8

Sprint Drive is powered by HARMAN Ignite, an end-to-end automotive cloud platform that enables connectivity, actionable analytics, and application management through a secure, flexible and scalable platform. HARMAN Ignite helps automakers, dealers and service providers like Sprint introduce and manage applications in the cloud to help fulfill the safety, convenience, information and entertainment needs of customers around the world.

Sprint Drive is available in Sprint retail stores, by calling 800-SPRINT1 and visiting www.sprint.com/sprintdrive.
