Ways To Ensure Your First Date Is A Success

Dating is challenging in this day and age, and you shouldn’t feel bad if you don’t have a lot of experience in this area. Once you do land your first date with your suitor of choice, it’s important you do what’s in your power to help make sure it’s a success.

Avoid worrying about all that could go wrong and instead focus on what you can be doing to prepare ahead of time to ensure a smoother date. Remember all the qualities you have to offer and also feel confident knowing that this person is choosing to go out and spend their free time with you.

Show up on Time

The last situation you want is to have your date waiting around for you and you showing up in a rush, or worse yet arriving late. Set a time that you know you can be ready by and at her door and then communicate this information to her well in advance, so she has plenty of time to get ready. You’ll feel foolish and be setting the wrong tone for the date if you aren’t respectful of the clock or your plans. Have a designated spot where you’ll be picking your date up and know exactly how long it’ll take you to get there, so you aren’t rushed traveling to get her. Also, do your homework and find out when the best time to have a first date is, so it’s more likely to go over well.

Pick Her Up in Style

Ensure your first date is a success by driving a nice car and picking her up in style. One idea is to invest in installing new black rims before your date which look super sleek and trendy. She’s sure to notice the car you’re driving and how much effort you’ve put into up keeping it. At the very least, make sure your vehicle is well maintained and clean inside and out. You don’t want to have to be scrambling to make room for her to sit or put her belongings and be forced to make excuses as to why your car is a mess. Be presentable with your overall image and what car you’re driving and your date will be off to a good start.

Have A Plan

What’s most important so you can ensure your first date is a success is that you have a plan in place. Figure out what activities you want to do well in advance and get her input if you’re having trouble coming up with a list of options. It may be best to let her in on some of what you’ll be doing and also leave a little up to her surprise.

Some ideas you might want to consider include:

  • Seeing a movie
  • Going out to dinner
  • Checking out a museum
  • Attending a local festival or event
  • Taking a hike
  • Watching a favorite comedian perform

These are just a few suggestions to help get you started thinking along the right lines so you can plan the perfect date. Come up with a schedule you can follow and purchase any tickets ahead of time, so they’re already in your possession. Also, if you’ll be going out for a meal then call the restaurant and make reservations for two, so there’s a designated table for you when you arrive. It’s not a wise idea to try to wing it on the first date since you don’t know each other well and you’ll likely be a bit nervous.

Act Like A Gentleman

What will help you out the most as you embark on this journey is to always act like a gentleman. This means being polite in all situations and to your date and not letting your emotions get the best of you if your plans don’t unfold the way you prefer. Remember to open and close her car door for her and pull out her chair so she feels welcome and comfortable. Don’t be afraid to let her know if you’re interested in her and enjoying yourself, but also avoid trying to come on too strong so you don’t scare her off. It doesn’t matter if it’s a love connection or not, you should always treat the woman you’re on a date with respectfully.

Be Willing to Pay the Bill

It’s in your best interest to save up your cash before the date and bring plenty of it along with you. Be willing to pay the bill for all that you do, especially if you’re the one who asked her out in the first place. Expecting her to come prepared to spend a bunch of money on your date is tacky and will likely turn her off from ever wanting to go out with you again. There are plenty of activities to do if you’re on a tight budget, you just have to think ahead and get a bit more creative. Have a good idea of how much you’ll need to have with you before you depart for your date so you have plenty to cover tips and any other unexpected expenses that might arise.

Relax & Have Fun

Ensure your first date is a success by making it a point to relax and be yourself. Although it’s a nerve-wracking event and circumstance, you’ll both have a much better experience when you’re in the moment enjoying each other’s company. Allow yourself to have fun and focus your efforts on getting to know the other person so you can determine if they’re a good fit for you and want to see them again. Be a bit vulnerable and open to sharing information about yourself so she can see who you truly are as a person. Smile, laugh and give it your all so you have a nice day or evening regardless if you plan on seeing each other in the future or not. Avoid worrying so much about what may or may not come of your first interaction together and allow yourself to take pleasure in spending some time with and getting to know someone new.
