Nexia Introduces New Line of Indoor, Outdoor HD Cameras and Flexible Video Storage Plans

BROOMFIELD, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Smart home technology leader Nexia™, a brand of Ingersoll Rand (NYSE:IR), now offers two new high-definition (HD) cameras featuring wide-angle views, infrared illumination and flexible online solutions for subscribers to watch and save video.

The weather-proof Nexia HD Outdoor Camera, $189 MSRP, delivers high-quality (1280×720) video that can be integrated with other smart Nexia-compatible products to create automations to make life simpler, safer and easier. For example, when automated with the Nexia doorbell sensor, you can see who is at your door or when a package arrives – no matter where you are.

The new Nexia indoor camera delivers a 140-degree wide-angle field of view, in addition to high-quality (1920×1080, 4 megapixel sensor) video, and can be integrated with other Nexia-compatible products.

“Cameras are one of the most popular products in the Nexia lineup, and we want to give our customers the opportunity to monitor their homes with quality video – from sharp images to a wider viewing area,” said Nexia general manager George Land. “The beauty of Nexia is our new camera allows subscribers to add upgraded technology to their existing systems knowing that it will work seamlessly and securely with everything they already have.”

All Nexia Wi-Fi cameras leverage the Nexia cloud platform to encrypt video streams at the camera, giving subscribers the peace of mind of knowing only they can see the feed.

In addition, all Nexia cameras now offer three flexible cloud storage plans:

  • A limited, free option, compatible with Nexia on-board bridges included in many Trane® and American Standard™ thermostats, gives users access to live streaming from their Nexia cameras.
  • A premium package of services (covered in Nexia’s standard $9.99 a month) includes automatic and immediate backup of files, 4 GB of cloud storage, and advanced user controls, as well as access to the full functionality of a Nexia smart home system.
  • A plan offering 12 GB of storage, that can be used to live stream, record and store video, can be added for $1.99 a month to the free plan, or it can be added to the Nexia subscription for additional storage.

These new Nexia HD cameras offer more choices not only for homeowners, but for homebuilders, heating and air conditioning dealers and audio-visual installers who are increasingly making smart homes systems part of their offerings.

Many homebuilders, for example, are including smart-home features in their new communities, with Nexia as the preferred provider for some of the nation’s largest homebuilders. With its company ties to residential heating and air conditioning, Nexia makes it easy for dealers and installers to expand the functionality of its parent company’s thermostats.
