SAN FRANCISCO — April 24, 2019 — Today, Ubisoft® announced that the first free post-launch update for Space Junkies™, its newly released VR arcade shooter, is now available on PlayStation®VR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Windows Mixed Reality headsets.

This new update, Season #1 Episode 1, introduces a variety of new content and features based on players’ feedback:

  • A new game mode, “Final Cut”, in which players are given one weapon at a time. After each kill, they climb the weapon ladder and have to get a new kill to progress to the final weapon, the Double Solar Sword!
  • A new map, “The Orbital Mine.” This abandoned mine is full rocks, pipes and tunnels that will have you going vertical and running for cover as the lava flows!
  • A new character skin from the Quantic Calamari family, known as the “Squid
  • A new set of customizations

Space Junkies is continuing to introduce regular new content through updates in the coming months, including new game modes, characters, maps, and many more surprises. New content will drop through a season-based approach, each season containing four episodes for a period of 16 weeks. The next content update, Season #1 Episode 2, is set to release in May. PlayStation Move and smooth rotation support will also be introduced mid-May in a special update.

Additionally, starting on April 26 for a limited time, Space Junkies will be 60 percent off across all digital stores.
