Swedish brand Wilma launches collection of sustainable mobile phone cases
Wilma is a Swedish brand supplying mobile phone cases and is now launching a collection manufactured from a compostable and 100% bio-degradable material, according to EU-standard EN 13432. This collections theme is “STOP OCEAN PLASTIC POLLUTION” and donates 1 USD per sold case to projects that promote protection of both the sea and the environment. From the 3rd September, Telia will be the first in the Nordics to offer this new collection across its stores in Sweden. Swedish brand Wilma is launching a new mobile phone case manufactured from PBAT and PLA combined in a composite material. The new collection provides cases for iPhone and Samsung’s S10 and S10+ devices. Product is also ready for the new iPhone devices expected to be presented on September 10th. – Everything that has already happened within FMCG and later in fashion/clothing is now happening within Consumer Electronics (CE) and the mobile industry. We see a strong interest in sustainability not just in the Nordics, but across Europe where Wilma will also set to launch with several partners this autumn in countries such as the UK, Switzerland and France. Wilma is being introduced and launched in close collaboration with the distributor STRAX, a global mobile accessory specialist with over 200 employees in 13 countries, and operational headquarters and a distribution center in Germany. Facts Wilma’s new mobile phone cases are produced of 60% PBAT and 40% PLA PLA (Polylactic Acid) is a thermoplastic aliphatic polyester derived from renewable biomass, typically from fermented plant starch such as from corn, cassava, sugarcane or sugar beet pulp. PBAT (Polybutylene Adipate Terephthalate) is a biodegradable random copolymer. PBAT can be made from both fossil and bio-based sources, and is fully biodegradable (EN 13432). Packaging is manufactured from recycled paper, minimal in size and is completely free of plastic.
