3dRudder today announces the launch of the 3dRudder Pro Wireless, a VR foot motion controller dedicated to the professional market, bringing motion at the feet to the Oculus Quest and other Android-based standalone VR headsets. The 3dRudder provides the only motion control solution that is immediate (simple installation and set-up), intuitive (a few seconds to use it, even for non-gamers) and safe (used securely seated), freeing the hands for action.

The 3dRudder Pro Wireless is designed to bring the 3dRudder experience to the Oculus Quest and other Android-based standalone VR headsets. Combined with the Oculus Quest hand tracking feature, users can now experience training, simulation… in VR as they would in real life, not focused on motion but on what they do with their hands. The 3dRudder Pro Wireless can also be used in combination with the Oculus Touch controllers.

Immediate and intuitive
With the 3dRudder Pro Wireless foot motion controller, there is no time wasted anymore on training users on how to move in VR with sticks. No issue either with them having difficulties coordinating motion at the sticks with doing with the hands. No need for dedicated space, no overhead cable management. It takes just a few seconds for anyone, even non-gamers, feeling secure as they are seated, to use the 3dRudder Pro Wireless, and start moving as in real life.

 Seamless motion in VR
Thanks to its 4 axes, the 3dRudder Pro Wireless brings full freedom of movement to VR applications. Effortless movements of the feet on its platform suffice to trigger motion in VR: by tilting the 3dRudder forward/backward, left/right, rotate it, or exert pressure to move up or down, the user experiences natural and precise motion control in VR

Easy integration, deployment and set-up
Integration of the 3dRudder into a VR application takes just a few hours. Deployment requires a simple Bluetooth pairing of the headset. The 3dRudder Pro Wireless doesn’t have any onboard battery in case it needs to be put in a checked bag when traveling with it. It can be connected to a standard USB charger, to a power bank or to the USB port of a PC.

We also released an updated version of the 3dRudder SDK, enabling developers to integrate the 3dRudder Pro Wireless into their Oculus Quest applications. It supports C++, C# and Python. We also have a Unity asset and an Unreal Engine plugin.
Interested developers should contact 3dRudder by registering on the developer website 3dRudder-dev.com. A Devkit is also available that comes with 2 units of the 3dRudder Pro Wireless, access to the 3dRudder SDK and priority email/Discord support. Enterprises, ISVs and developers can purchase the 3dRudder DevKit for $699/699€ at shop.3drudderbusiness.com. Deliveries will start on March 30, 2020.

The 3dRudder Pro Wireless foot motion controller is available for order via the official 3dRudderBusiness store for $199/199€. Deliveries will start on March 30, 2020.
