Accio Update! Magical Multiplayer Battler SpellPunk VR Outlines Major Content Updates
Get ready to jam out with your mana out, as Incineration Productions’ magical multiplayer virtual reality battler SpellPunk VR has some exciting new updates to enchant you with. This comic-book-inspired competitive spellcasting game cranks things up today with a series of gameplay improvements and new content additions, plus a tease of what’s to come next for SpellPunk VR.
Incineration Productions heard the voices of SpellPunk VR‘s battlecaster community loud and clear. As part of SpellPunk VR’s community-driven development during Early Access, the game has received a major rework of its spell recognition system. Spell symbols are now more easily cast, with the recognition system optimized to detect each of the game’s hand-drawn spells with greater variance. Mages can now more effectively cast their chosen spells amidst frantic battles without the concern of being overly precise in their symbol drawing.
In addition to revamping SpellPunk VR’s spell recognition system, the developer has also added a new Training Mode to the game that teaches players how to cast magic spells with greater ease and speed. Players can train in each of the game’s one- and two-handed spell types before taking the fight against AI or online opponents. Aesthetic and functionality changes have also been made to the game’s main menu, settings screen, matchmaking queue, and match results.

Set in a vibrant and abstract world that’s energized by a soundtrack composed of a wicked mix of hip-hop and electronic beats by world-renowned feature film and game composer Penka Kouneva — SpellPunk VR is a high-octane competitive spellcasting game oozing with style. Players take the role of mighty-magicians who duel in fast-paced mana-manipulating multiplayer battles. Spells are hand-drawn during battle to attack, defend, and heal — requiring a mix of one or both hands to accurately cast. SpellPunk VR features three online game modes — Casual, Normal, and Ranked, plus offline play against AI opponents. SpellPunk VR’s next major content update slated for release in June will introduce a variety of new spells, online leaderboards, an invite friend system, and more!
SpellPunk VR is available now for Windows PC via Steam and Viveport at a reduced Early Access price of $19.99 USD. The game supports the Oculus Rift, Oculus Rift S, HTC Vive, HTC Vive Pro, Vive Cosmos, and Vive Cosmos Elite, with support for additional VR devices available in the future. Additional features and content updates will be released throughout Early Access.
