First Responder Nonprofit Betties Bombers to Host Live Stream Charity Event to Support EMS Teams

In honor of Military Appreciation/Mental Health Awareness Month in May, and PTSD Awareness Month in June, first-responder-focused non-profit organization Betties Bombers will be hosting a two-week fundraising event from May 25 through June 7, 2020. The event will be featured on Softgiving, a specialized fundraising platform, to support first responders and members of the military, while also helping to spread awareness of Betties Bombers’ most recent endeavor: Operation Mutual Aid (OMA).

Betties Bombers is a New Jersey-based nonprofit organization that provides peer support for emergency medical services (EMS), firefighters, police, and veterans by utilizing video games to engage communities and promote mental wellness. Their latest fundraising project, Operation Mutual Aid, has a goal of raising $20,000 for advertising, training, and certifications for volunteer peer specialists, funding for their charity programs, and most importantly, to purchase Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) for a US-based EMS squad to help them battle COVID-19. The winning squad will be chosen by the person or streamer who raises the most funds during the campaign.

In conjunction with Brigade Esports and Shotcall.gg, Betties Bombers will be presenting a live stream during the two-week fundraising event to help garner donations for Operation Mutual Aid, which can be watched on Twitch and Mixer. Details and sign-ups are available in the Betties Bombers Discord. Brigade Esports will also be hosting a preliminary event Saturday at 3 PM EST that will run for 12+ hours up to 24 on their Twitch Channel. Additionally, Shotcall.gg is offering “playdates” during OMA where donors can sign up to play with one of their favorite influencers one-on-one by making a donation to reserve a playtime.

In addition, Betties Bombers will add a further selection by drawing a winner from a “virtual hat” during the week of June 8 following the event, picked randomly from a list submitted by the community. To nominate an EMS team, send the name of the squad, their email address, phone number, and a link to their website or social media page to contact@bettiesbombers.org with the subject “Salute Nomination”. The deadline for nominations is 12:00 AM EST, June 7, 2020.
