New Motorola Solutions TLK 150 Mobile Two-Way Radio Provides Fast, Reliable Communications for Fleet Vehicles
CHICAGO – May 18, 2020 – Motorola Solutions (NYSE: MSI) today announced the availability of the TLK 150 Mobile Two-Way Radio, the newest addition to the TLK Series. This next-generation, push-to-talk radio is compliant with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations for driver distraction, with one button push-to-talk or hands-free accessories and no distracting screens. Critical safety features like location tracking and emergency calling and alerts help drivers to remain safe and accounted for, while nationwide coverage and crisp, clear audio keeps everyone connected.
“At any given time, we could have dozens of trucks and drivers out on the road, which used to make communicating extremely difficult,” said Doug Smith, president, Smith Ready Mix, a concrete delivery company based in Northwest Indiana. “However, with Motorola Solutions, we found a rugged and reliable device that would minimize distractions for drivers on the road and still keep everyone in contact as needed. The TLK Series two-way radios have not failed to keep up with the demands of our fast-paced operations and dispersed, on-the-go workforce.”
Powered by WAVE, a subscription-based group communication service that quickly connects users across different devices, networks and locations, the TLK 150 Mobile Two-Way Radio is small and compact enough to mount in multiple places in a vehicle and is purpose-built for unique challenges faced by those in industries such as transportation, manufacturing, construction and education.
“Commercial fleet vehicles must follow very strict laws to ensure the safety of the drivers and others they encounter while on the road or at job sites,” said John Rosati, vice president, North America Channels, Motorola Solutions. “With the availability of the TLK 150 Two-Way Radio, we are better able to support the need for communication and safety, especially while operating a vehicle.”
The TLK 150 works on a nationwide cellular network and is interoperable with land mobile radio (LMR) so it can communicate with an existing radio network. This feature combines the ease of two-way radio communications with broad coverage to extend push-to-talk capabilities across a singular job site or the entire country. The device also uses AES-256 encryption to ensure secure and private communications. Users are able to manage talk groups and subscriptions in real time and can increase coverage, connections and productivity without additional infrastructure.
