Nowadays, everyone does everything online. People are becoming growingly concerned with their digital security. Data centers were invented so that companies could keep people’s information safe. Now, these establishments are all over the country. This article will go over the largest data centers in the United States.

Switch SuperNAP

Anyone visiting Vegas should check out the world’s largest data center, Switch SuperNAP. Switch SuperNAP has its own campus, referred to as The Citadel Campus. Engineers decided to build this massive facility in a warm climate to protect it from natural disasters. One of the most amazing things about this facility is that it’s located near the Tesla Gigafactory. This establishment is also one of the few in the world that operates completely on renewable energy. This fact becomes even more impressive when considering the distance the center covers. Switch SuperNAP provides cabling services to those in Reno and San Francisco.

Lakeside Technology Center

Lakeside Technology Center is located in Chicago—the Windy City. This facility provides services for corporations like Facebook and IBM. The establishment consists of over one million square feet and contains over 50 generators. Interesting Fact: It’s a good thing this work site has generators, because the weather can be unpredictable in Chicago.

Network Access Point (NAP)

NAP is another one of the largest data centers in the United States. It’s located in Miami, and even though it’s not as big as the other establishments mentioned, it performs essential services. NAP is the primary access point for data centers in Latin America. In fact, the facility houses information for over 140 Latin American countries. Moreover, NAP has simple connectivity with AT&T and Verizon.

Tech wizards should check out these establishments once the pandemic’s over. Data centers are quite the sight, and it’s amazing to see how fast digital information can travel between locations. Their sizes are also incredibly impressive. They are excellent sightseeing spots for those interested in infrastructure and technology.
