Panasonic Showcases OASYS™ Whole Home Air Quality Management Solution for Home Builders at IBS 2025

This year at the 2025 NAHB International Builders’ Show® (IBS), Panasonic will display its latest indoor air quality (IAQ) solutions portfolio, including the recently announced OASYS™ holistic home comfort solution and BalancedHome™ Energy Recovery Ventilator (ERV) series. Centered on the theme of “Efficiency, Comfort and Compliance – All in One,” Panasonic’s interactive displays (Booth C5919) will showcase technology and solutions that builders can leverage to achieve better indoor air quality for every project through top-tier performance and energy efficiency along with cost-saving advantages.

Panasonic will be joined by special guest Mike Holmes, one of North America’s foremost authorities on home construction, renovation and building standards, and a long-time advocate for healthy living spaces, who will be onsite at the booth on Tuesday morning at 11:15 a.m.

“With the new OASYS Solution, builders no longer need to choose between performance, energy efficiency and ease of installation,” said Scott Kirkendall, Director, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Business Unit, Panasonic Eco Systems North America. “As home design continues to evolve and builders work to meet growing demand, we’re committed to providing solutions that help professionals create a competitive advantage with every build.”

Panasonic’s OASYS System is a first-of-its-kind HVAC and indoor air quality solution created for modern, high-performance homes. This new approach to HVAC supports the comfort and wellbeing of families in their home environment and delivers compelling energy efficiency and cost saving advantages, reducing energy consumption for heating and air conditioning by up to 53%1 compared to traditional HVAC systems.

With OASYS, professionals can confidently build homes offering cleaner, fresher air; balanced humidity; and consistent temperature control across the house while benefitting from faster, more efficient installations due to its point-to-point ducting and compact design. Unlike traditional systems requiring large trunk lines, OASYS’ shorter runs and 6-inch ducting mean more powerful air distribution with fewer complications.

Also on display will be the new BalancedHome ERV series, delivering outstanding energy efficiency and versatility at a cost-effective price point. Offering extensive flexibility with eight models across four maximum cubic feet per minute (CFM) ranges, the BalancedHome ERVs are designed to accommodate both top and side port configurations, providing customizable installation options. Complete with Panasonic’s state-of-the-art SmartFlow™ technology, each BalancedHome ERV Series is designed to perform as rated, with Elite Plus models earning an 82 percent sensible recovery efficiency (SRE) rating. The BalancedHome Series ERVs adjust automatically to static pressure to provide balanced ventilation to improve indoor air quality in a cost-efficient manner and are compatible for all climate zones, and compliant with the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) requirements.

In 2024, Panasonic was recognized for its ventilation excellence, earning awards as the 2024 EnergyStar Partner of the Year winner for Sustained Excellence and Green Builder Media’s 2024 Sustainable Brand Leader in the ventilation category, while the WhisperGreen Select series was recognized as “Best for Large Bathrooms” by U.S. News & World Report on its list of Best Bathroom Exhaust Fans of 2024.

The award-winning WhisperGreen Select ventilation fans will be displayed alongside Panasonic’s HVAC and purification solutions, smart controls, dryer exhaust ventilators and full lineup of existing ERVs, which include:

Intelli-Balance® 100: Ideal for single family homes and multi-family units, this high-performance, high-efficiency unit is engineered for total versatility and installation flexibility, especially in cold climate zones and is now equipped with Boost function, which moves the fan speed to high when activated.

Intelli-Balance® 100 Mirror: This cost-effective unit is uniquely engineered for total versatility and installation flexibility, in any climate zone. Built-in controls minimize the time it takes to set desired airflow, as well as verify and maintain performance and allow users to simply design and specify ventilation system requirements, improve indoor air quality and reduce ventilation costs.

Intelli-Balance® 200: Designed to increase airflow in tightly built homes with both exhaust and supply air, this ERV allows builders and homeowners alike to better design and meet ASHRAE 62.2 requirements, improving indoor air quality and reducing ventilation costs.

WhisperComfort® 60: Home Ventilating Institute (HVI) certified for energy recovery and sound and suitable for new builds or remodel projects in single or multi-family homes, this unit provides a tempered fresh air supply and balanced exhaust air flow to maintain neutral pressure throughout a home.

1Based on a July 2024 analysis commissioned by Panasonic comparing the OASYS solution against conventional system designs, using a two-story, 4-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom house with light concrete tile roofing and a ventilated crawlspace underneath the first floor as the model home. Energy savings compare a Panasonic high efficiency design including an OASYS high efficiency custom HVAC system and high-performance envelope, to a code minimum house design utilizing a standard gas furnace. Energy demand was converted and standardized to kilowatt hours (kWh), with the model estimating 5,932 kWh annual energy consumption for the OASYS system compared to an estimated 12,744 kWh annual energy consumption for the conventional system, a reduction in annual energy consumption of 53%. The U.S. Department of Energy’s IES Virtual Environment software was used to produce an HVAC load sizing report, while the building’s energy usage was assessed with the National Renewable Energy Lab’s BEopt tool.
