Hands on: The Pioneer Watch by nordgreen

I like watches, I like having a watch for that looks good in every situation. My Gear S3 watch doesn’t work in all settings. Sometimes you just don’t want that style of watch, such as a fancy dinner or a wedding or any other time like that. Sometimes the cheap watches I have purchased don’t always fit either. When the fine people over at Nordgreen asked me to review one of their black watches for men I was thrilled, cause why wouldn’t I want another watch for my collection.

Once I checked out their check I was impressed with the amount and options they have for watches. You can select the same watch in several different colors with different style, type and materials for the band.

If you are not sure what type of watch you want, you can go on to their website and search for the size, color, style and type of band you want, and they will show you watches that fit into the options you chose.

Watch prices range from around $170 up to $300. While this might not seem like a good value for just a watch, for under $300 you can purchase a watch that not only looks good, but will last a lifetime and look just as good after 2 years.

nordgreen offers watches in multiple styles for both Men and Women.

The watch is a Danish design by Jakob Wagner. The internals include Sapphire Crystal with Japanese Movement. This gives you accurate time for years and years.

Now lets take a look at the watch we chose, The Pioneer in Gun Metal with Black Dial and Black Leather Band. This watch is 42mm in diameter. For me, this is the size i prefer. You can choose between 28mm up to 42mm, so you can pick what is right for you. The watch, they way we ordered it, comes in a nice bock and it is held to felt, to keep from getting damaged during transport.

The face of the watch itself is very simple, but elegant. I has 3 dials and the date. You have your main dials for the hour and minutes, a second hand dial, and a stop watch. As you can see on the side, there are 2 buttons and the crown. You use the crown to set the time. The top button is used to start and stop the stopwatch function. The hand you would normally expect to be the second hand, is the seconds for the stop watch function. The dial to the left is the minutes for the stopwatch. Once you are done timing whatever you are using the stop watch for, you press the bottom button, and it resets, ready for your next timing adventure.

The dial on the right of the watch face is your second hand for the time. The main dial does feature a hour and minute had, The hands themselves are silver with black accent in the middle. This allows for a subtile pop of color that fits the watch face color, while still being easy to see what the time is at a quick glance. I have worn this watch out several times, as imo this is more of a stylish watch and not for everyday use. It is very comfortable and does not get hot on your wrist. It’s easy to wear and adds a touch of class to any suite or tux.

The nordgreen watch comes with a 24 month limited warranty.

Now that we covered the watch we were given to review, Lets talk about nordgreen the company.
