Review : OutIn Nano Portable Espresso Machine

Today’s world is constantly on the go and traveling with extended time not being home. The other side, some people have the opportunity to explore the wild, camp out in the woods, hike a mountain or fly a plane cross country. I, my friends, are both of these people. I am a writer here for Cerebral Overload but my life is packed full of adventures and hobbies. I was given the opportunity to review this deviously small but powerful espresso machine. From the ground, to the sky and on the water, this machine has proven its worth to me and been a top contender to my favorite beverages.

Design

OutIn compressed an entire espresso machine with all the bells and whistles into a tiny and lightweight tube that produces some high quality go go juice. The Nano is simplified so much by keeping everything in one small path. The top has a small lid that is removable to add your hot OR cold water. This is easy as there is a measurement guide inside to tell you when to stop.

The power behind this machine is the built in 7500 mAh battery that is good for 5 cold water brews or up to 200 hot water brews. This rechargeable battery does require at least a 15amp charger so a basic iPhone charger will not cut it. However, the tablet version does quite well. The charging time isn’t very long either and can be indicated via the lights on the front.

Moving down the pipe you come to the actual pod or coffee ground housing. There are two set ups you can run with the OutIn depending on what you have available. You can use any coffee you like an pack it into the coffee ground canister. OutIn actually included a small measuring spoon that doubles as a coffee ground packer. This little thing is an excellent tool to help get the right amount and mash it in for a perfect brew.

The second option is to use a prepackaged pod. The Nespresso pods actually fit perfectly in there and work great! I have a Nespresso at home so this was a no brainer! It is nice to have the prepackaged ones especially if you’re on a long trip and don’t have the packed coffee handy and ready to go. I can say that it is very possible and SAFE to brew yourself a nice espresso while flying cross country in your Cessna 172.

Brewing this is even easier again because on the very bottom and the last piece to this magnificent mechanism is the cup that stays attached to the Nano while it brews and contains all that delicious bean water for you to enjoy. This whole set up is just fantastic to keep it simple, organized and accessible in the most remote of places. Whether you’re on the road driving 14 hours and just need that quick pick me up without stopping, flying a plane from one state to another or living life to the fullest in the remote woods while camping with friends and family. The options are literally endless and so worth the small effort.

Colors

The color options are fantastic as well and probably the toughest choice in this whole process. There is a teal that would go wonderfully with a chic boutique design. A grey that is perfect for literally any occasion or style. I have the grey and I love how it looks everywhere we have gone. A forest green that is similar to OD green for my military friends. This was my second choice and I still think is just beautiful. For those who like the simple and clean look there is a crispy white and lastly for the person who wants to be loud and proud a fuchsia pink that screams LOOK AT ME!

Operations

I mentioned above that his can work with hot OR cold water. I’ve done this with both and I have not noticed a difference in taste only a difference in the battery life. If you use cold or room temp water you just have to press and hold the button to activate it. The Nano will heat the water and begin to expel it in about 200 seconds. It comes out PIPING hot as well at about 198 degrees F or 98 C for you weird folks. It really is so simple and easy to use. I’ve had zero issues with operations every chance I’ve used it.

Overall

If you are someone who enjoys that cup of joe while on the road or lives for the outdoors this is the product for you. It is the perfect size to fit in a small backpack or flight bag, very lightweight and all the pieces you need can be stored inside of itself. The colors that are available will match anyone’s personality or style. The battery life is wonderful for the amount of power that is behind it and charging is a breeze and not a long process. The best part, since you’re reading this post early, Amazon is offering a 20% off sale March 25-31st!
