The High School Esports League Spring Major Begins Today with $30,000 in Scholarship Prizing

High School Esports League (HSEL) — a division of global esports organization Generation Esports (GenE) — is excited to announce that the championships for their Spring Major gaming tournament begin today! Thousands of high school students from across the United States — whether at-home or attending school in-person — have taken part in the eight-week-long HSEL Spring Major online tournament for a piece of a $30,000 prize pool of college scholarship funds!

The varsity-level HSEL Spring Major esports competition began in March 2021, pitting U.S. high school esports clubs against their peers in 11 popular multiplayer online video games. Champions across all titles are set to win up to $1,000 USD in scholarship prizes. Additional “Quest” prizing — optional tasks for players to complete or conditions to meet throughout the tournament — gives competitors a shot to win ASUS ROG TUF gaming gear, swag-filled Loot Crates from the Army National Guard, as well as gift certificates from the Zaxby’s restaurant chain.

The HSEL Spring Major championships will feature live commentary by premier esports casters throughout the entire week, starting today May 17, 2021, at 7PM EDT / 4PM PDT on Twitch.tv/GenerationEsports
