Heavy Equipment You Need for a Construction Company

Construction companies use dozens of pieces of heavy equipment for every job they do. Breaking down and moving literal tons of material requires a lot of power. There’s no way you can avoid using heavy equipment in any construction job. Here’s a basic list of the common heavy equipment you need for a construction company.

Lifters

Lifers are equipment that carry people and items off the ground so they can work on things they can’t reach easily. You need lifters for both worker safety and so you efficiently perform work at levels above the ground floor.

Loader

The term “loader” is a very big generalization of the heavy equipment that helps move loose materials from one place to another. This includes things like forklifts and excavators as they carry heavy loads to wherever they’re needed. Without these tools, construction workers would have no way to get rid of construction debris.

Hauler

Haulers finish off what loaders start by carrying all the materials off the construction site. There are dozens of hauler types you can choose from, as they each carry different things and do so in different driving conditions.

Drill

Drilling equipment breaks through the ground and creates holes that work as anchor points for a foundation. These drills are irreplaceable when it comes to creating sturdy foundations.

Asphalt and Cement Equipment

Another kind of equipment you’ll need for your construction company is road-laying equipment. There are quite a few different types, such as a cold planer or a drum roller. This equipment is necessary for any construction work that uses asphalt or cement.

This article should cover the major categories of heavy equipment you need for a construction company. There are a few other machines that may benefit you, but the tools mentioned here are what almost every company uses in their work.
