Raiders of the Serpent Sea, an Epic Viking Adventure Setting for 5E, Launches on Kickstarter
Modiphius Entertainment is excited to announce a publishing partnership with tabletop RPG creators Arcanum Worlds on their next epic adventure: Raiders of the Serpent Sea, a Norse-themed sourcebook and setting for 5E, written by veteran game designer Brent Knowles (Neverwinter Nights, Dragon Age: Origins, Baldur’s Gate II, Axis & Allies, and 1942 Online).
Set among the disjointed islands and monster-infested waters of the world of Grimnir, Raiders of the Serpent Sea takes inspiration from Norse mythology and tales of Vikings passed down over the ages. Players take on the role of glory-seeking raiders in a journey that will bring them face-to-face with colossal creatures, long-lost gods, and the world-devouring Jötunn. What role will your party of Viking heroes play in the impending cataclysm? That’s for the dice to decide.
As part of the publishing agreement, Modiphius will be responsible for marketing, logistics, and production of Raiders of the Serpent Sea worldwide, while Arcanum Worlds will handle the Kickstarter campaign for a hardcover adventure and campaign setting guide and a softcover player’s guide.
Key features of Raiders of the Serpent Sea include:
- An epic campaign written and designed by Brent Knowles, lead designer on Neverwinter Nights & Dragon Age: Origins, that takes players from level 1 to 10 (and beyond)
- A 250-page hardcover adventure and campaign setting guide filled with spectacular illustrations
- A 50-page softcover player’s guide that details the world of Grimnir — a land inspired by the mighty Norse gods and the historical Vikings popularized by today’s media
- An optional bridging scenario that connects Thylea (Odyssey of the Dragonlords) and Grimnir (Raiders of the Serpent Sea) — Raiders of the Serpent Sea is also compatible with other popular campaign settings
