Drive a Rover, See Spacecraft at Astrobotic with Superbid

Astrobotic recently announced the opening of its new “Luar Regolith Lab” at its headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA. In a partnership with a commercial customer, Superbid, Astrobotic is auctioning off an opportunity for fans to get an exclusive tour of its space robotics facility, drive one of its rovers, and have dinner with a rover engineer and other Astrobotic team members.”Astrobotic is all about connecting everyone to the wonder and importance of space. To celebrate our new Lunar Regolith Lab and inspire others to get involved in the space industry, offering up a unique chance to drive a rover with our hard-working engineers seemed incredibly cool,” says Alivia Chapla, Senior Marketing and Communications Director. “All proceeds from the auction will be used to support our nonprofit, the Moonshot Museum.”Superbid, an NFT marketplace that auctions off tangible experiences, is one of the companies sending cargo aboard Astrobotic’s Peregrine Mission One. This Moon mission is set to launch in mid-2022 and carry scientific instruments, technology demonstrations, time capsules, and more to the lunar surface.”We are extremely excited to be among the first cryptocurrency in human history which will land on the surface of the Moon. In the crypto world, the Moon has a special meaning, as it’s a symbol of success. Our partnership results in a series of auctions whose goal is to make this event even more special to a wider audience, mostly fans of the space industry. The team behind SuperBid has been watching Astrobotic for years now, and it is an absolute honour to be a part of this journey.”Winners of the auction on Superbid will visit the rover test facility, filled with “regolith simulant”, or dust, designed to mimic the lunar surface. To take part in the auction participants must visit the Astrobotic auction on SuperBid Marketplace, sign up and use $SUPERBID tokens to bid on it. The auction will last until November 12, 2021, 2PM EST time. Winners must be citizens of the United States of America.
