Prepare Your Defenses! Diplomacy is Not an Option Launches on Early Access this January

Today, developer Door 407 is proud to announce that Diplomacy is Not an Option will launch in Early Access on PC, on January 26, 2022. A strategy game full of surprise twists, Diplomacy is Not an Option will combine fan-favorite elements of the city-builder, tower defense, and Real-time Strategy genres.

In Diplomacy is Not an Option, players become a medieval feudal lord suffering a midlife crisis. Build your settlement and strengthen your economy, but beware: hordes of enemies, swarms of scary monsters, and crowds of rebellious peasants can wreak havoc on your working schedule at any time. Waste no time on diplomacy. This is your chance to show’em who’s in charge.

Players will need to make important decisions to keep their settlement thriving and safe:

  • Control resources, decide what will be gathered and how best to use it
  • Research new technologies and building trees
  • Recruit units, control their movements, and decide how to best defend the castle walls
  • Face moral dilemmas, human stupidity, and shortsightedness that can lead to fatal consequences
  • Stay on the right side of magical laws to avoid zombie uprisings and harness a vaporizing god ray
  • Complete regular missions and ultimate goals in a quest for power

Above all, keep in mind that the laws of physics are thoroughly reproduced in Diplomacy is Not an Option to maximize player immersion in a medieval war. Tens of thousands of units can fight on the screen at the same time, every gun has a certain range, medieval shells fly by an arc trajectory, arrows bounce off stone walls, archers have blind spots, and closed gates can become an obstacle not only for the enemy…but also retreating units.

Diplomacy is Not an Option is a game without unnatural limitations. From the very first task, players are given the entire available arsenal and all in-game mechanics are unlocked. Players have full control over strategy for their city to prosper…or perish.

After a successful demo period full of amazing and helpful feedback, Diplomacy is Not an Option will launch via Steam Early Access on January 26, 2022, featuring a whole host of upgrades and new features.

The Early Access build will contain two campaign missions, the wave survival mode, and most upgrades and research skills. In the run-up to full launch, Developer Door 407 plans to finalize the campaign mode, add missions, diversify units and buildings, and improve the interface.
