How To Properly Store Your Luxury Vehicle
When seasons change or inclement weather rolls around, it is time to place your luxury car into storage to keep it safe and undamaged. Given its luxurious status, this type of vehicle will need delicate maneuvering to store it. There is a proper procedure for the storage of valuable items.
Clean the Vehicle
Since your car will remain in storage for an extended period, you’ll want to clean anything that might cause a permanent mess when the vehicle comes out of storage. Any stains or marks need cleaning since the moisture in an enclosed space may cause them to set and become permanent. Carbon fiber body kits need cleaning and waxing to maintain their great appearance even after leaving storage, as dirt and grime will accumulate.
Leave as Much Empty Space as Possible
Whether in a garage or storage unit, the place you store your vehicle should have as much space as possible. It isn’t easy to maneuver through a cluttered room to get to your car, and it’s a challenge to t drive your vehicle into a cramped parking space. You’ll want as much space as possible to properly store your luxury vehicle in a simple manner.
Fill Up Any Fluids
Fluids such as gas or oil make the car run and should always remain full when you store your luxury vehicle. You want your luxury car to run well as soon as you bring it out of storage, so make sure you fill up any fluids to ensure it has the resources to move.
When left sitting for too long, the oil will eventually become dirty and thick and will cause damage to your vehicle. It is best to change the oil before putting the vehicle into storage so that the new oil has less of a chance to spoil.
Continuously Charge the Battery
Over time, the battery of your luxury car will drain and possibly die. Keeping the battery plugged into a maintainer will prevent battery failure or the need for a replacement once out of storage.
Keep the Vehicle Elevated
As the vehicle sits in storage, the wheels sustain the car without any other force to help. The wheels will slowly wear down and will not exhibit good performance on the road when the vehicle exits storage. This will eventually cause you to purchase an expensive replacement, as luxury car tires aren’t cheap. Elevating your vehicle using jack stands and plywood under the tires will keep pressure off the wheels and leave them intact for the next time you drive.
The process of properly storing your luxury car takes time and considerable effort. But when you sore it well, you will feel incredible relief knowing that your vehicle will remain in good care.
