An expansion of ROG Citadel XV, SCAR Runner follows the story of ‘X’, our mysterious hero engaged in a race against time to recover critical information. A unique blend of high-octane gameplay and real-world puzzle solving, the launch of the game ties in with the shipping of the ROG Strix SCAR 17 SE gaming laptop where resourceful gamers can locate hidden clues embedded on the chassis of the laptop, aiding them in the progression of the game.
Set within the sprawling Goeman City, a thriving metropolis with a criminal underbelly, gamers must traverse this urban landscape to discover what PKD so desperately needs to share with the Republic of Gamers. Players will require razer-sharp reflexes to safely traverse the rooftops and industrial zones of the city before time closes in and disaster prevails. A series of fiendish puzzles await gamers brave enough to discover the truth, holding the true key to reaching PKD before he disappears forever.
SCAR Runner releases in tandem with the shipping of the Strix SCAR 17 SE, a new ROG flagship gaming laptop with a unique ROG chassis, chassis and powered by the latest Intel® Core™ i9 processor, certain to turn-heads wherever you game. Adventurous players will find hidden clues on the chassis itself, helping them solve in-game puzzles hidden in plain sight beneath invisible ink on the hardware. The improvements start at the beating heart of the machine, powered by the brand-new Intel® Core™ i9-12950HX, an incredibly powerful 65 W, 16-core mobile processor. With boost frequencies of up to 5.2 GHz on its Performance cores, single-threaded performance never falters, leading to ultra-high framerates in the latest esports titles. When set to Manual mode in Armoury Crate, this 65 WCPU can boost to a staggering maximum turbo power (PL2) of 175 W for a limited time, allowing the SCAR 17 SE to pull double duty as a powerful content-creation machine when the discrete GPU is disabled. The SCAR 17 SE was able to achieve an incredible score of 22,257 in the Cinebench R23 multithreaded test when in Turbo mode, a result rivaling desktop performance.
