Professionals, in various fields, who are titled with great names must have experienced a lesser known time when they first arrived. To gain a foothold in the industry, what they distribute is nothing more than a long period of hard work, persistence, and enthusiasm. Today, the three of them who are focusing on their own fields all have unique achievements in their own industires. Fan Cheng-Zong –“A contemporary artist with an old soul.”
Mr. Fan is an artist who is adept at mastering traditional techniques and materials, and applying them to the creative process in mind-bending ways. Enthralled by the wisdom hidden in traditional arts, his creations combine modern technology with a level of craftsmanship that even robots cannot replicate. He belives that there’s no need to explain the effort that goes into his masterwork, one can understand through appreciation. Mr. Fan has collaborated with numerous international brands including Hermès, Aesop, Apple, and Balvenie.
Tai Siao-Chun –“A multidisciplinary musician born with an indigenous heritage ”
Ms. Tai, the Paiwan artist passionately embrace the her background and culture since childhood. Her music combines inspirations from Hengchun’s folk scene, the Minnan and Paiwan languages along with traditional melodies played on her moon lute. She belives that cross-disciplinary creation can transcend language and boundaries, and it can result in previously unimaginable sparks. In 2020, Ms. Tai won the Best Indigenous Album and Best Indigenous Singer awards at the 31st annual Golden Melody Awards. She is also a two-time winner of the top prize at the Taiwan Music Composition and Songwriting Contest.
Douglas Creighton–“ The power of spirit is unstoppable.”
Mr. Creighton is an experienced professional basketball player from P. LEAGUE+ team – Formosa Taishin Dreamers. With his calm demeanor and three-point line precision, he is the clutch player that everyone looks to when it counts. He believes that No abilities come without practice. Having a steady and calm demeanor after matches is the key to keeping a positive attitude and being able to perform on the court. Mr. Creighton has experience representing Taiwan and a member of Taiwanese Basketball’s “3000 Points Club”.
After a long deliberation, Mr. Fan, Ms. Tai and Mr. Creighton have achieved greatness in their respective fields.
