The demo introduces the game’s protagonist Nix and presents the backstory of the planet Gh2040-B, where mankind engages in one thing it knows best – war. It features 3 flight missions that give players a glimpse of basic gameplay mechanics and airship customization and ends with a mini-boss battle.

VergeWorld started as a fan-made retro project developed for Amiga and Sega Genesis. Their creators are involved in making the new PC game while still working on the full retro versions.

Key game features of VergeWorld include:

  • Procedurally generated levels
  • High-speed combat racing with third-person view bullet hell fights
  • Airship’s highly customizable arsenal
  • 3 alien biomes to navigate
  • PSX-era 3D graphics with pixel art and a splash of modern inspiration
  • Nostalgic 16-bit tunes mixed with a synthwave soundtrack

VergeWorld will release on Steam and other PC storefronts in the fall of 2022. Console versions are planned for the future as well.
