VergeWorld is a retro-fuelled fast-paced roguelite combat racer in which players fly through procedurally generated canyons, shoot enemies, gather resources, and complete challenges. It mixes high replayability with the nostalgic retro feeling of PSX-era 3D visuals, pixel art story screens, 16-bit tunes, and a synthwave soundtrack.

Key game features of VergeWorld include:

  • Procedurally generated levels
  • High-speed combat racing with third-person view bullet hell fights
  • Airship’s highly customizable arsenal
  • 3 alien biomes to navigate
  • PSX-era 3D graphics with pixel art and a splash of modern inspiration
  • Nostalgic 16-bit tunes mixed with a synthwave soundtrack

VergeWorld started as a fan-made retro project developed for Amiga and Sega Genesis. These prototypes are free to download. Their creators are involved in the making of the new PC game while still working on the full retro versions.

VergeWorld will release on Steam and other PC storefronts in the fall of 2022. Console versions are planned for the future as well. More details will be revealed during the summer.
