Penn State Health’s sports medicine team includes 10 primary care sports medicine providers who specialize in the nonsurgical treatment of sports-related injuries and help people stay active. They are joined by four sports medicine orthopedic providers with expertise in surgical treatments. Physical therapists, athletic trainers and radiologists trained in reading musculoskeletal images round out the team.
Penn State Health’s sports medicine providers in Hershey serve as team physicians for four professional teams — the Hershey Cubs, Hershey Bears, Harrisburg Senators and Harrisburg Heat. They also work with collegiate teams at Lebanon Valley College and Penn State Harrisburg and with eight local high school teams. In addition, Penn State Health experts in State College support Penn State’s NCAA Division I athletic programs.
