DreadXP Introduces Curiously Creepy Titles “Amanda the Adventurer” and “[I] doesn’t exist” at Indie Gaming Conference The Mix

DreadXP — an independent horror publisher and production company — is devilishly delighted to reveal its participation in indie gaming conference The MIX Next 2022, where it showcased two of its newly acquired titles: Amanda the Adventurer and [I] doesn’t exist. The Mix provides a casual yet professional setting for developers to showcase their projects to top journalists and key folks in the industry. During the conference, DreadXP revealed new details and gameplay footage for both Amanda the Adventurer and [I] doesn’t exist

“We’re thrilled to add Amanda the Adventurer and [I] doesn’t exist to our family of remarkable indie horror titles,” said Ted Hentschke, Head of Productions at DreadXP. “One of our goals is to help support and showcase smaller developers, using our resources to give their titles the attention they deserve. There are many outrageously creative and inspired developers out there, and all they need is a chance to show the gaming world their chops.”

Amanda the Adventurer is a found footage style horror title where players embark on what at first appears to be a wholesome, friendship-filled journey. Developed by MANGLEDmaw Games, the adventure starts with the seemingly banal task of digging through an attic, until players come across a box full of VHS tapes. Watching through them, they discover that they contain episodes of a long-lost children’s show starring the plucky Amanda the Adventurer and her cowardly yet loyal sidekick, Woolie the Sheep. At first glance, the videos seem innocently childish, depicting two best buddies in an edutainment-styled escapade. However, the longer the videos are watched, the more a creeping, sickening feeling emerges that something in the tapes is watching back. Every day’s another adventure!

Experience text adventures in a whole new light with modern AI technology and lovingly crafted pixel art in [I] doesn’t exist. Developed by LUAL Games[I] doesn’t exist is a one-of-a-kind combination of trance-like visuals and text-based narrative design. The combination of 2D and 3D perspective through optical illusion gives players a trippy, dreamlike experience while a modern “Natural Language Processing” technology lets players naturally type out answers to in-game prompts.

Solve puzzles, talk to a cute mushroom, and give commands to the in-game avatar — until the façade starts showing its cracks.
