Launch Update: Canadian students’ CubeSats are launching to space
On November 22 at 3:54 p.m. ET, two CubeSats designed and built by Canadian students, LORIS from Dalhousie University and ORCASat from the University of Victoria, will launch to the International Space Station (ISS). These student teams were the first from the Canadian CubeSat Project (CCP) to finalize preparations of their miniature satellites in June 2022 at the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), in advance of their journey to the ISS. Live coverage of the launch will air on NASA Live.
Under the CCP, 15 teams of students from each province and territory designed and built their own CubeSat with the guidance of CSA experts and representatives from the Canadian space industry. The second integration with CCP teams will take place at the CSA at the end of November. More information to follow.
