CES Innovation award winning strength training for 40+ endurance athletes
– Research shows that for aging athletes strength training is key for their health. The bad news is that endurance athletes are missing out by using traditional indoor cycling products. TrueKinetix, an indoor cycling technology company, invented a way to incorporate strength training in indoor cycling by using high tech robotics. At CES Las Vegas 2023 they are launching their TrueBike and TrueTrainer in the US.
Traditional indoor trainers use a flywheel that lacks resistance, giving you only a cardio workout but no strength. TrueKinetix-founder Bas van Rens: ‘in order to train your muscles correctly you need a flywheel of 2000 pounds to create the right resistance’ Using an engine from a small electric car and smart robotics TrueKinetix invented a way to create the right resistance for an indoor trainer. The result? 40+ year old endurance athletes finally get the strength workout they desperately need. As a bonus their indoor cycling training feels much more like outdoor cycling.
The patented TrueForce Technology is the central platform for the companies award winning products, the world’s first robotic indoor smart bike, TrueBike and smart trainer, TrueTrainer. TrueTrainer is a 2023 CES Innovation Award honoree, and TrueBike has been honored with the Sports Innovation Award and prestigious Bike Motion Innovation Award. TrueKinetix products are also endorsed by professionals, including Olympic gold medal cyclist Anna van der Breggen and US Pro Ironman-competitor Matt Russell.
TrueKinetix will be at CES Unveiled January 3 2023 and at the CES exhibition from January 5 – 8, 2023 at the Venetian Expo, Level 2, Hall A-D, Booth #55332. About TrueKinetix
Founded in 2017, TrueKinetix was born from the personal frustration of sports tech entrepreneur Bas van Rens (ex-Philips and MyLaps). After a winter of indoor training for the World Ironman Championships in Hawaii, he missed qualifying by eight minutes because he’d trained the wrong muscles on an indoor bike with a flywheel. As a result, he built his own indoor racing bike using the latest technologies, including robotics and a powerful motor that provide a pedaling force that simulates outdoor cycling.
The technology behind TrueKinetix was developed together with two Dutch Technical Universities. NOC*NSF was the company’s first customer and TrueKinetix has won several awards, including the Bike Motion Award, the Dutch Sports Innovation Award and the 2023 CES Innovation Award. TrueKinetix now consists of 20 employees. Visit TrueKinetix to learn more.
