ProovStation and MICHELIN Unveil TireStation: The Magnetic Scanner for a Fast and Reliable Automated Tire Inspection
ProovStation, Europe’s leading provider of AI-powered car inspection, and MICHELIN, a leading tire manufacturer in sustainable mobility, today unveiled TireStation, the fast and reliable solution for automated tire inspection. Combining the expertise and know-how of ProovStation and MICHELIN, it optimizes tire inspection for professionals. The TireStation solution will be presented at CES in Las Vegas, from January 5 to 7, 2023, at Car Selling Machine – Venetian Expo, Tech West, Lv1, Hall G, Booth 61011.
Simple yet versatile, TireStation is a turnkey tire diagnosis solution for professionals with a wide range of advantages: improved measurement reliability, easy to use, increased productivity, smoother customer service, etc.
How does it work?
The vehicle is driven through a scanning and photographic system that provides key information:
- The automatic and magnetic measurement of the tread depth of the tires thanks to the MICHELIN QuickScan stabs
- The dimensions and brands of the tires thanks to the sidewall photography
- The vehicle’s registration number
Based on the data collected and powerful algorithms, an instant report is generated to show the tire wear and potential geometry vehicule issues. It can be use dafterwards by the receptionist to suggest or anticipate any tire operation, replacing or rotating tires or even even adjusting alignment.
Why TireStation?
- The only solution on the market based on magnetic technology
- Quick and easy installation, no civil engineering required
- A universal solution compatible with all types and brands of vehicles and tires
- Reliable results, regardless of the neatness of tires and slabs
- Accurate and efficient solution, regardless of the complexity of the tire tread
- Simple and intuitive to use
ProovStation and MICHELIN, a fruitful tech partnership
Developed by the two experts since January 2022, TireStation is the fruit of a larger two-year partnership between the two leading players. Precisely, ProovStation’s automatic car inspection solution has been enhanced with the MICHELIN QuickScan technology since 2020. Thanks to the integrated magnetic tire scanner, automatic and instantaneous tire control with millimeter precision is now possible, in less than 5 seconds.
Today, more than 130 stations equipped with the MICHELIN QuickScan solution are being installed for automotive factories (for end-of-line quality control), logistics companies, short- and long-term rental companies and reconditioning plants.
According to Sébastien Masseret, Business Manager at MICHELIN, “In the future, tire inspection will be mostly digital and automated. For the first time, MICHELIN QuickScan technology is available in an integrated solution for the automotive after-sales. TireStation is proof of a fruitful and complementary mix of expertise between MICHELIN and ProovStation”.
“Today, automotive players have to adapt to the challenges linked to a changing consumer behavior and the emergence of electric vehicles, which will have a huge impact on future workshop traffic. The objective of this digitalization is to optimize each after-sales entry by offering the right service, at the right time and at the right price, while improving the customer experience and satisfaction. TireStation’s joint innovation provides a true solution for our customers to achieve this goal,” said Cédric BERNARD, CEO of ProovStation.
